Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, says he doesn’t have time to take part in the most recent digital trend of non-fungible tokens or NFTs.
On Monday, Ye took to Instagram his opinion about the NFTs in all caps. He currently has no intentions in launching or supporting NFTs.
“STOP ASKING ME TO DO NFT’s I’M NOT FINNA CO-SIGN … FOR NOW I’M NOT ON THAT WAVE I MAKE MUSIC AND PRODUCTS IN THE REAL WORLD,” he wrote on his post, which comes with a picture of a piece of paper with handwritten contents.
“MY FOCUS IS ON BUILDING REAL PRODUCTS IN THE REAL WORLD, REAL FOOD, REAL CLOTHES, REAL SHELTER,” Ye captioned. And then further wrote: “DO NOT ASK ME TO DO A F***ING NFT.” But allowing a future chance, Ye ended his letter saying, “ASK ME LATER.”
Ye’s most recent open letter comes following his announcement of the forthcoming release of “Donda 2,” his 11thstudio album. “Donda 2” is a follow up of his highly esteemed “Donda” and “Donda (Deluxe).”
However, it is uncertain whether “Donda 2” will exactly drop on February 22 as planned, seeing as “Donda” was issued much later than was scheduled – months behind to be precise.
The latest project shocked fans as it wasn’t expected, and it will have Ye’s fellow rapper Future as executive producer.
“Donda” reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart during its release, making it Ye’s ninth successive debut on the peak of the list. Moreover, 23 songs from the tenth studio album reached the Billboard Hot 100. “Hurricane” ranked No. 6 during its release, while “Jail” debuted at No. 10.
